15+ years shipping software

Building experiences for
mobile, web & the living room.

I'm Joe Ridenour, a full-stack engineer and technology leader who's spent over fifteen years turning ideas into polished products — across mobile, web, TV, desktop, backend, and even the circuit board. From native apps and streaming platforms to cloud infrastructure and micro-electronics, I build the whole thing.

“Bringing the average Joe's apps to life.”

About

A generalist's range, a craftsman's care.

Over the last decade and a half I've worked across the full spectrum of software — the phone in your pocket, the browser on your desk, the television in your living room, the services in the cloud, and even the hardware on the bench. That breadth has taught me how to move fluidly between platforms while keeping one thing constant: a relentless focus on the experience.

The idea behind Joe's Apps has always been simple — bringing the average Joe's apps to life. Whatever the idea and whatever the platform, my job is to take it from a sketch to something real, shipped, and worth using.

I care about the parts users never see — clean architecture, thoughtful data models, performance — because those are exactly what make the parts they do see feel effortless. Whether it's a smooth 60fps animation on mobile, a snappy 10-foot interface navigated by remote, or a resilient backend humming under load, the goal is the same: software that just works.

I lead engineering teams while staying hands-on across the full stack. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and based near Nashville, I enjoy the whole journey — from a rough concept to a shipped product — and I'm just as comfortable prototyping something new as I am hardening and scaling something mature.

How I work

Platform-fluentNative where it counts, cross-platform where it's smart.
User-firstEvery technical decision serves the person on the other side of the screen.
Detail-obsessedThe polish in the last 10% is what people remember.
PragmaticShip, learn, iterate — without cutting the corners that matter.
Expertise

Full-stack, end to end — silicon to cloud.

Fifteen years spanning the whole stack, from the circuit board to the data center.

Let's build something.

Have an idea that needs to come to life — on mobile, web, TV, the desktop, or even a circuit board? I'd love to hear about it.
